New Haircut + Great Weather

This next weekend I will be a bridesmaid in a wedding, and so I dyed my hair and got it trimmed. My friend Emerald from church cut it for me with Canon lying there on the floor. He was a little upset after a while, being bored with 2 people in the room who were NOT paying attention to him. Overall, he was really well-behaved. Anyways, it was such a nice day outside, Emerald offered to take our picture. These are a few of my favorites.
Enjoy!

Early April

Over the past few days we've had a few fun things going on:

1. On Thursday April 1, Canon turned 5 months old. Yeah, I know, not something worth celebrating, but I've kept telling myself that he looks bigger to me every day. He's been growing so fast, and I could tell that he's been more hungry than usual, so I decided to start him on solid foods. That is something exciting!! So far he's only received rice cereal mixed with breast milk... and sometimes also formula to make it more filling. So far it seems to be working out pretty well, and I'm looking forward to better sleep once he doesn't need to feed so often at night. (For more ramblings on this subject, please see my baby blog.)

2. On Good Friday April 2, I had a wonderfully enjoyable birthday. In the morning I took Canon to an Easter Egg Hunt that was hosted by Birgit for a bunch of ladies from church and their kids. I didn't get there in time to really join in on the hunting, but I didn't really mind... Canon can't really appreciate the activity just yet anyway! However, I did get to bring a Bunny Cake. That afternoon, Mark and I got to go to the Temple which was a real blessing. It was the first time we went since Canon's been born, and we were asked to be the witness couple. (That's not really a surprise because there have only been about 3 times we can think of when we were NOT the witness couple at the Boston Temple. ha ha!) That night we had some friends over for strawberry shortcake and ice cream.

3. Saturday was a beautiful day, so Canon and I went to the park while Mark played football again. While Canon took his morning nap, I did Pilates and enjoyed the sun and fresh air. Later that day and Sunday we got to listen to General Conference, thanks to the Internet! I really felt like the talks given were spoken not only to edify me directly, but to inspire me to work harder to be a better witness of Christ. This was the first General Conference I spent as a mother, and I honestly think it made a difference in how I received the messages shared. I'm so grateful for the Gospel of Christ in my life and the opportunity we have to hear the words of prophets today. I can't think of a better way to worship on Easter Sunday, listening to words of Christ and His lessons applied to modern life. Also, with this being Canon's first Easter, he (actually Mark) got to open his very first Easter gift from Grandma and Grandpa Dahl. Thanks G&G Dahl!!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
